GEMM 2008 is fast approaching on September 7th and we have the complete list of all this years great workshops available in the GEMM 2008 section of the site.
GEMM 2007 was a huge success last year.
There were 19 workshops and also two parent workshops. Jo Frietag came down to cover the movie SPELL BOUND including a film discussion. SPELLBOUND follows the lives of eight young Americans who share one goal: to win the National Spelling Bee. The Bee is as intense a competition as any Olympic match and for the spellers and their families, the stakes are just as high. The Spelling Bee is a dramatic backdrop for the bigger story about these gifted kids and their families.
GEMM 2007 was bigger & better than ever and once again I am grateful to our terrific presenters. This year we had quite a few young presenters compared to previous years and that in itself is exciting. Thankyou to everyone who promoted the day to other families and to your children’s friends.
The cake decorators Guild was unable to do a workshop this year but promises to add it for next year.
(So I am sorry about that.)
The Guides were once again selling drinks on the day.
Our Junior GEMM planning committee has been working hard behind the scenes and I look forward to seeing the results of their hard work.
